CHRISTIAN PASTORINO
Born in Genoa in 1996, Christian Pastorino began studying the piano at the age of six. In 2010 he was admitted to the "N. Paganini" Conservatory in Genoa, where he studied piano under the guidance of M° Massimo Paderni and, subsequently, M° Cesare Castagnoli, and chamber music in the class of M° Massimiliano Damerini. He obtained his Academic Diploma of I and II level with honors and honorable mention. He has participated in masterclasses and advanced courses with leading figures in the international piano scene, including Andrea Lucchesini, Riccardo Risaliti, Benedetto Lupo, and Roberto Plano, with whom he attended a two-year specialization course at the Pinerolo Academy of Music.
In 2012 he won the First Prize and a scholarship at the "Loredana Laudisi Ponte" Competition in Genoa. He has received important recognition in international competitions, including the "Città di Albenga" Competition, the "Rospigliosi" Competition (Lamporecchio), and, more recently, the Second Prize at the "Paul Badura-Skoda" Competition (Vienna). In 2016, he was awarded the "Opera Pia Conservatorio Fieschi" chamber music scholarship (in duo with violinist Olexander Pushkarenko) and the "Giuseppe Ponta" scholarship from the Genoa Conservatory. In 2021, he was awarded a scholarship promoted by the Rotary Club.
His concert activity boasts numerous appearances at prominent events. In 2012, he took part in the celebrations for the centenary of the GOG (Giovine Orchestra Genovese). In June 2016, he performed in "Un concerto per ricordare" (A Concert to Remember), a commemorative event for the fortieth anniversary of the attack that claimed the life of Francesco Coco. On that occasion, organized by the National Association of Magistrates (ANM), he performed both as a soloist and in a chamber ensemble, with the execution of Fauré's Quartet op. 15. In June 2017, he performed Mozart's Concerto in D minor K. 466 with the Genoa Conservatory Orchestra conducted by M° Antonio Tappero Merlo, in prestigious venues such as the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Teatro Sociale in Camogli and the Duomo di Tortona. In September of the same year, at the Teatro di Camogli, he was the protagonist of a project dedicated to the complete performance of Beethoven's five Concertos for Piano and Orchestra in the version for piano and string quintet by Vinzenz Lachner, interpreting the Concerto No. 3 in C minor op. 37.
Christian Pastorino has been invited to perform in numerous concert series and festivals, including the Paganiniano Festival of Carro, the Genoa International Music Youth Festival, the "Musica d'Estate" festival in Bardonecchia, the Alessandria Music Youth Festival, the Ravenna Festival, the Santa Festival, the Voxonus Festival of Savona, "I notturni en plein air" (organized by GOG and Palazzo Ducale in Genoa), and the Festival del Compositore (based at the Teatro Carlo Felice and dedicated to the performance of contemporary compositions). He has performed in various Italian cities including Genoa, Rome (including a concert at the Vatican Museums), Milan, Ravenna, Alessandria, La Spezia, Savona, Acqui Terme, Sanremo, Livorno, and Imperia, both in solo recitals and in chamber ensembles.
He has also made recordings for the soundtracks of several short films by Federico Mottica at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (National Film School) in Rome.
